Latest News on Lake Worth Beach

Would you believe it? Our daily paper this morning had this headline and article:
The last days for a historic hangout*

There are a couple a neat historic photos, enlarge them and take a trip back in history. And a report on the renovation of the Casino Building on Lake Worth Beach. We just discovered the area and now they are going to tear it down in March to build a new modern one. Of course if things go as things go in Florida, it may take a few years instead of a few months.

The last time that I was in Florida my brother in law, who is an Orlando Police Officer, described exactly what you are talking about with the pace of development down there.

We drove past a building in the Altamonte Springs area and he pointed out that the local Floridians had nicknamed the High Rise the "I-4 eyesore" because of how long it was taking to complete.......It wasn't that nice to look at either.

Wow...I don't live there and still feel disappointment that something is "dying".

It was neat looking at the pic of the Casino back in the 20's. Did you notice what the people up on the beach were wearing (not the ones by the water - the people further up). I do believe I see some three piece suits on those folks :)

Too bad, the casino building looked like a magnificient place when it was built back in the 1920s. Certainly worth restoring. It looks like the kind of place I would "hang out" if I lived down there.
